Sarah Schirmer

Were I called to define, very briefly, the term Art, I should call it ‘the reproduction of what the Senses perceive in Nature through the veil of the soul.’ -Edgar Allan Poe

“Fear of the Unknown” collection by Sarah Schirmer. It is in our human nature to fear what we do not understand. Concept was inspired by folklore literature, Salem Witch Trials, undiscovered sea creatures and Sarah’s personal fear of unfinished work. Throughout this collection, Sarah translated these fears through use of textures, colors, mood, music, garment construction, experimentation, surrealism, hair and makeup. Enjoy your journey into the unknown…
